GEODE CAPITAL APPOINTS MITCH LIVSTONE
AS PORTFOLIO MANAGER

BOSTON, April 1, 2010 – Geode Capital Management, LLC today announced the appointment of Mitch Livstone, Ph.D., C.F.A., as a portfolio manager and senior member of the $81 billion institutional asset manager’s investment team.

Livstone joins Geode from Harvard Management Company, where he was senior vice president, domestic fixed income and was responsible for credit strategy and trading since 2007.  Previously, Livstone was portfolio manager of Geode’s convertible arbitrage strategy and held various fixed income research and portfolio management positions at Fidelity Investments over eight years.

Livstone holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Case Western Reserve University and a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
